Sponsored Products ads now serve inside creator content
Sponsored Products campaigns can now appear within Amazon Influencer Program creator content — reviews, editorial posts and buying guides. Existing campaigns were enrolled by default at their current bids and budgets, so most advertisers are already serving there whether they planned to or not.
What exactly is changing
- Clicks from creator content land on your normal Amazon product detail page.
- Campaigns opted in automatically at existing bids and budgets — check yours if you did not intend to.
- Billing is unchanged: you pay per click, your max bid caps cost, and clicks draw on the same campaign budget.
- Top of Search and Product Pages bid adjustments do not apply off Amazon, but dynamic bidding does.
- You can exclude specific creators, and each campaign has an off-Amazon setting of "Increase reach" (default) or "Limit off-Amazon spend".
- Results show in the Sponsored Products Placement Report and via the Ads API placement classification metric.
Why this matters for sellers
The important word is "default". Campaigns were opted in automatically, so spend has been flowing to a placement most advertisers never chose, at bids set for a completely different context. It may well perform — creator content carries buying intent — but it needs to be measured rather than assumed. Top of Search and Product Pages bid adjustments do not apply off Amazon, so your careful placement tuning does not follow the ad there.
What to do next
- 1Pull the Sponsored Products Placement Report and isolate off-Amazon performance since 10 August.
- 2Compare ACoS and conversion rate on creator placements against your on-Amazon placements before deciding to keep them on.
- 3Use the per-campaign off-Amazon setting — "Increase reach" or "Limit off-Amazon spend" — rather than leaving every campaign on the default.
- 4Exclude specific creators whose content is a poor fit for the brand.
